Microplastic Assessment using Citizen Science
- Between the 20th and 24th March, 64 pupils from European Schools met the Raise-CS and Erasmus Maris team in Burriana, Castellón, approximately 60km north of Valencia.
- During this campaign, teachers collaborated with their students at every stage of the process to evaluate the extent of local microplastic pollution. To achieve this goal, they adhered closely to the Standard Operating Procedure of previously validated methods that conform to international standards for assessing microplastic materials.
Awareness Campaign
- The students not only participate in scientific activities but also gain firsthand awareness of the issues that threaten our oceans.
- The teachers and students collaborated to create an environmental awareness campaign to combat microplastic pollution.
- As part of this effort, they drafted and signed the "Manifesto de Burriana" in which they committed to taking action to address this issue.!
