"Allow me to start how much I appreciate what your initiative sets out to achieve bringing together stakeholders from science, education, public administrations and industry to discuss current challenges related to microplastic pollution." Says President Sassoli in his letter.

One of the objectives of this event is to create synergies between the different European initiatives and projects on this topic.  Within this frame, the organisers will launch a new bottom-up initiative called "Erasmus-Maris" providing tangible links between science and education.

The Erasmus Maris days are organised by Ayam Sailing Europe together with the Generalitat Valenciana and the Slovenian National Institute of Chemistry with the support of the EC funded project "The Pedagogical Sailboat Project" and the city of Castelló. The event addresses 9 UN Sustainable Development Goals
